Visa Settings in Synergetic

The following information is for campus secretaries to enter/modify the visa details of an overseas student or students who live in Australia on a  temporary visa in Synergetic.

  • Citizenship Country: (if the student holds multiple citizenships, you would enter multiple entries. They might not have multiple passports but we must ensure that we get all available information. Do not get information from the student/parent, but they should have brought the passport for us to scan. We must use documents to enter data.)

  • Status: Options are Australian Citizen, Exchange Student, Permanent Resident, Temporary Resident.
    • Exchange Student: we don’t accept exchange students.
    • Permanent Resident: There must be Visa Grant Notice for anyone holds this residency. If someone does not receive citizenship, they might have lost their documentation as they may get PR a long time ago.
    • Temporary Resident: There must be a Visa Grant Notice for this type of residency. Any residency status apart from other 3 listed above must fall into this type.

  • Visa Class: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (Please refer to the picture below)
  • Subclass: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (Please refer to the picture below)
  • Visa Number: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (Please refer to the picture below)
  • Arrival Date:
  • Visa Application Date: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (refer to Date of Visa Application in the notice)
  • Issued Date: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (Please refer to the picture below)
  • Expiry Date: Must be taken from Visa Grant Notice (Please refer to the picture below)
  • Active: Some people might have applied for another visa before their visa expires. Then they fall into a Bridging visa. There are several bridging visas. While they are on Bridging visa, they are entitled to all rights under their preceding visa. When it expires, their entitlement falls under the Bridging visa. Therefore you should check whichever visa is active.
